Pharmacy Architect Hired to Design USP 797 Compliant Prefab Pharmacies

Bernstein & Associates, Architects --- a healthcare architecture firm with a specialty in pharmacy design amongst other healthcare design specialties --- is pleased to announce that it was recently hired to consult on a new, USP 797 compliant, prefab pharmacy clean rooms.

The pharmacy, which will be compounding sterile products in separate chemotherapy compounding and non-chemotherapy compounding rooms, require consulting on whether the pharmacy plans and proposed pharmacy equipment, meet current USP 797 guidelines. Well known pharmacy design architect William N. Bernstein, AIA leads the consulting assignment. Amongst the areas to be reviewed: selection of USP 797 compliant pharmacy equipment, revisions of HVAC pressurization relationships, and additional USP 797 planning suggestions regarding appropriate pharmacy dimensions, flow and materials. Pharmacy design consulting services provided by Bernstein & Associates, Architects included: pharmacy program, pharmacy planning, pharmacy equipment planning, pharmacy design, pharmacy bid documents, approval of the pharmacy design by regulatory authorities, pharmacy equipment planning, and oversight of the pharmacy construction. In general, the project was designed and built to meet the latest version of USP 797.

The pharmacy project is a complete new pharmacy. The project includes all new USP 797 compliant anteroom, new USP 797 compliant hazardous compounding room, and new USP 797 compliant non-hazardous compounding room.
