Swisslog, a leading provider of automated materials transport and pharmacy automation solutions for hospitals, today announced that Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, Tenn. has selected Swisslog's Beacon System and ATP High Speed Packager for its pharmacy automation needs.

The revolutionary Beacon System gives small pharmacies the ability to organize medications by activity or use level. It guides picking and stocking with innovative light direction and barcode verification.

The ATP-320 High Speed Packager will be installed to work in conjunction with the Beacon System. The packager will hold 320 canisters of fast-moving medications at a time. The ATP system will package and barcode hundreds of unit and multi-unit doses in minutes, thus saving the pharmacists' time and increasing patient safety.

Installation at Maury Regional Medical Center is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2010.
