Simplifi 797 Label Module by Pharmacy OneSource
Bellevue, Wash. Wolters Kluwer Health announced today
that Pharmacy OneSource released new enhancements for the
label module of Simplifi 797, a web-based quality
assurance software for USP 797 sterile compounding
compliance. The new features allow users to limit how many
label fields are required for their facility and offer
additional printing options. Users can also now apply
barcodes horizontally or vertically, as well as add prep
time for compounded medications with expiration dates less
than 24 hours..

According to an article in Pharmacy Practice News, by
David Bronstein, Purdue University’s College of Pharmacy
has developed a three-dimensional (3-D) virtual clean room
to teach its students how to comply with USP Chapter 797
requirements for sterile IV preparations.“The primary goal
of the program,“ according to the article, “the first of
its kind in pharmacy education, according to the
instructors—was to enhance the students’ ability to
confidently follow the sterile-compounding requirements.

recently released a new General Chapter < 797 > providing
procedures and requirements for compounding sterile
preparations. The standards in USP 797 apply to all people
and facilities that prepare "compounding sterile
